The fifth release of Johnnie Walker’s limited-edition Ghost and Rare series celebrates Glasgow’s famous Port Dundas grain distillery, that closed its doors and sired down its stills in 2010. Known for its distinctive sweet, fragrant character, Port Dundas was not only a blending powerhouse but also one of the world’s most-famous grain whisky distillery, and Johnnie Walker master blender Dr Emma Walker has hand-picked whiskies that will complement and show off this ghost distillery’s character. The creamy, woody notes of Port Dundas have been complemented by softly smoky, vanilla-forward whisky from ghost distillery Cambus, original stocks from Brora and fruity whiskies from five iconic distilleries.
NOSE: Creamy vanilla and a whisper of wood spice
TASTE: Creamy, wood notes from Port Dundas embrace the vanilla and soft smoke from the “ghost” whiskies of Cambus and original stocks of Brora. Other very rare whiskies from Cameronbridge and Glenkinchie reveal notes of spiced apples alongside Clynelish, Dailuaine and Auchroisk, bringing aromas of peaches and berries.
FINISH: Red berries and a lingering wisp of smoke
